The BOLD Challenge

Your normal routine but better

What is the Challenge?

Introducing the BOLD exercise mix

Did you know that there are four types of exercise that you should be including in your routine? Each week we'll be deep diving into a different type of exercise and helping you find easy ways to incorporate it into your day.

Endurance activities increase your breathing and heart rate. Need some inspiration, why not try:

+ Putting on some music and dancing while cooking dinner

+ Parking further away and walking every aisle in your weekly grocery shop

+ Taking your or a neighbour's dog for a walk

Strength activities help you build and maintain muscle. Need some inspiration, why not try:

+ Using your full grocery bags as arm weights

+ Doing lunges while waiting for the jug to boil

+ Try using your non-dominate hand when cleaning or doing basic activities

Balance activities help you prevent falls. Need some inspiration, why not try:

+ Standing on one foot while the barista makes your morning coffee

+ Practicing a heel-to-toe walk while watching TV

Balance activities help you improve and maintain your range of motion. Need some inspiration, why not try:

+ Gentle stretching while reading a book

+ Play fetch with your dog and make a point of reaching down to touch your toes each time you pick up the ball
