BOLD Vanilla Ice-Cream

A better way to treat yourself

This is the perfect way to cool down on a hot summers day! This recipe works as a milkshake base, a snack, or as a delicious dessert. This recipe makes 2 serves.


  • 1 scoop Bold Health Protein Plus 
  • 1 cup milk
  • ⅓ cup pure cream 
  • ⅓ cup caster sugar 
  • 1 egg yolk 
  • ½ vanilla bean

Bold Ice cream



  1. Place milk, cream, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla bean in a small saucepan over low heat. 
  2. Gently simmer for 8 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved and mixture thickens slightly. Do not allow the mixture to boil. 
  3. Remove vanilla bean and pour the mixture into a jug. Refrigerate until chilled. 
  4. Once chilled, add Bold Health Protein Plus and stir to combine. See note. 
  5. Transfer mixture to a zip lock bag. Squeeze as much air as possible out of the bag before sealing. Lay flat in the freezer for 3-4 hours. See note. 
  6. Once frozen and when ready to serve, remove the ice-cream from the freezer. Place in a blender or food processor and blitz until smooth. 
  7. Serve with chocolate shavings, wafers or fresh berries.


  • The ice-cream mixture needs to be chilled before adding Bold Health Protein Plus. If added to a hot or warm mixture, the benefits of the heat sensitive vitamins may be hindered. 
  • Removing the air from the zip lock bag reduces the formation of ice crystals and will result in a smooth ice-cream. 
  • Laying the ice-cream flat will speed up the freezing time. A fast freeze reduces the size of ice crystals and will result in a smooth ice-cream.
